This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial

4C92/8 Base Operations Container v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL8)

The 4C92/8 Container is used as operations, security or communications
center on wilderness planets. One half of the container is filled by ten
computer workstations, the other half holds an airlock, a small fresher
and a large galley. The container is sealed against tainted atmospheres
or blowing dust.
Power is provided by solar cells, with 75 hours of reserve power.
Subassemblies: Body +4.
Powertrain: Six 180,000-kWs rechargeable E power cells.
Occ: 10 bridge RCS.

Body: Long-range radio; long-range, tight-beam radio; long-range laser
communicator; three C3 minicomputers with ten terminals; 5-man airlock;

Design Notes
Body is 2,000 cf. Structure is light and very cheap. Armor is cheap
metal. Sealed. 31.2 cf of empty space. Empty weight is 16,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from GURPS Vehicles [2nd edition,
3rd printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi and the text format from Vehicles
Lite. The Traveller background affects the design decisions, not the
technology.
