What approach are you going with?
A central item or the ship itself being the magic item?
That should tell you which attitude to approach naming
I mean, Manasailing, aether-riding, flowsailing, solaric sailing -
neologisms slip off the tongue
...
For my (modern magic) Order setting the Sidhe Fleet have living ships to
sail the space between universes and the very alien Vore have mechanism
based spheres for the same purpose: open frameworks that create both
atmosphere (and remove inertia)
Another space-magic setting I've encountered had cylindrical ships with
life-keels providing gravity and atmosphere and these were hung with
aer-foils (mana-sails) and something like fior-pulse motors (low-impulse
thrusters). Although we did go to an island floating in space that was
supported and maintained by a magic helm sat on a throne in the tower on the
centre of the island. [which our thief stole and nearly got us all killed]
