Adventurers' Truck (1970s Version) v0.1 (TL7)
By 1970, groups of adventurers could easily cross deserts and jungles
to meet their real challenge - from evil masterminds and mad scientists
to giant lizards and forgotten temples.
This truck is based on a standard 4x4 chassis. The cab seats a driver
and one or two passengers. The rear compartment holds six passengers or
a similar amount of cargo. Upgrades include a radio, an early carphone,
a front-mounted winch and a small kitchen with food and water for a few
days.
At routine travel speeds, the engine uses 2 gallons of gasoline per
hour. A full load of fuel and provisions is $165.
Subassemblies: Body +3, four Off-Road Wheels +1, full-rotation Open
Mount -3.
Powertrain: 50-kW ruggedized all-wheel drivetrain; 50-kW standard gas
engine; 3,200-kWs lead-acid batteries.
Fuel: 30 gallons gasoline (fire 11).
Occ: NCS, NS, CS, 6 folding CS. Cargo: 9 cf.

Design Notes
Body is 300 cf. Wheels are 60 cf. Open Mount is 0.24 cf. Structure is
medium, expensive. Armor is expensive metal. Mechanical controls. 1.46
cf of empty space. Empty weight is 4,000 lbs.
The vehicle uses the design rules from GURPS Vehicles [2nd edition,
3rd printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi, VXii (the armor volume rule) and
the text format from Vehicles Lite.
