p.B193 (sidebar) lists slaves, in general, costing what they would earn as a
freeman over five years.

p.76 of Greece lists an untrained child as $300, a trained adult $800-2,200
(depending on how well skilled) and $60/month maintanence. This is relative
to a $5000 starting income. Imperial Rome, which does not have a starting
income listed, but judging by the cost of living tables, would probably
increase the cost by 2-3x.
