This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. With a slight delay, old vehicles appear
at http://omeyer.gmxhome.de/GURPSnet_files/summary.html

Sharushid Mongoose XII Safari Monocycle v1.0 (GURPS Traveller TL12)
  Copyright 2006 by Onno Meyer

The Mongoose XII is no effective hunting vehicle, but the monocycle
has style. For people who fly in a Safari Ship to another planet just
to add another trophy to their study, style matters.
The monocycle is a disk with a tire around the outer rim. Gyroscopes
keep the vehicle (and the hunter within the vehicle) upright and allow
it to maneuver. This shape would limit the forward visibility and fire,
so there is a mounting bracket for a big game rifle or similar weapon
and a boresighted hyperspectral camera. The hunter aims by turning the
entire vehicle.

The TL12 vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [2nd edition,
third printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor
volume rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller
rules affect the background but not the technology of this design.

Next Week: A Safari Air/Raft.
