Hi Emily,
  I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but Daisho for the
naming of a pair of swords - usualy one long one and one short one (Katana
and Wakizashi?)

If you would like more information, I might - if you are more specific, be
able to ask someone who lives in Japan.  Whether she will answer or not
would be the question ;)
