Even if you could buy one "on short order", they would likely cost 
several tens of thousands of dollars.  The least expensive thermal 
viewer I was able to find was an Elcan (?) thermal scope for around $12k...

I agree with Anthony, call animal control or the fire department and 
see what they can do.
