  With a remarkably low ground pressure, the Snow Spirit ATV is used on
worlds where the settlements are located near swamps or glaciers. It is
easier to maintain than a contragrav vehicle and easier to operate in a
blinding storm ...
  The articulated All-Terrain Vehicle has two sections. The front holds
the driver, seven passengers and the engine. The rear section holds the
remaining eight passengers and the cargo. The sections are not separate
vehicles - there is just one engine and one transmission for the four 
tracks. The Snow Spirit has basic communications and navigation gear in
the front section, including a low-light camera.
  At routine travel speeds, the engine burns 7.5 gallons of diesel or 9
gallons of alcohol per hour. A full load of diesel is $360.

Powertrain: 240-kW tracked drivetrain; 250-kW ceramic engine; 10,000-kWs
   advanced battery.
Fuel: 300 gallons diesel (fire 7).
Occ: 1 RCS, 15 RS.   Cargo: 350 cf.

Design Notes
  Body is 1,500 cf, articulated. Tracks are 2,000 cf (increased volume). 
Structure is light and standard. Body armor is standard composite, track
armor is non-rigid. Waterproofed. Mechanical controls. 237.3 cf of empty
space. Empty weight is 8,000 lbs.
  The TL8 vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [2nd edition, 3rd 
printing, Dec 2004 errata], VXi and VXii (including the armor volume 
rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. The Traveller rules 
affect the background but not the technology of this design.
