e23 News for August 18, 2011: Fairly Formidable Founding Fathers

[image: http://e23.sjgames.com/media/RGG1666.jpg ] Some scenarios are, if not done to death, at least extremely popular. The whole medieval era is liberally mined for fantasy and historical games, as are the years of World War II. Colonial America, however, while an undeniably interesting point in history, is rarely used as a backdrop for anything but strategy games.

Rarely, that is, except in Colonial Gothic ( http://e23.sjgames.com/search.html?gsys=Colonial+Gothic ) . The wilderness of America could be a mysterious and wild place for European settlers, and the cities and towns could be just as dangerous. There's plenty of room for strange and hidden villages and their weird denizens. If you were't already getting a Lovecraft-Meets-The-Scarlet-Letter vibe, the newest addition to the series of Colonial Gothic: The Grimoire ( http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=RGG1666 ) even mentions the Elder Gods themselves. The Grimoire holds the magical knowledge and lore of the setting. Dangerous stuff to be caught with. Possibly even more dangerous just to know.
