Unless they're enemies. In which case, friends will be the guys trying to kill you.

In Mystic Adventures, they are trying to do that very thing. Ideally, you'll be in the superior position and will in fact, do the killin' rather than receive it. You get that way by getting your hands on more XP than your "friends." That, itself, is usually accomplished via killin' stuff.

Really, there's just this whole killin' stuff motif going on. But hey, so long as you're still upright when the game is over, what does it matter, right?
