Faery's Tale ( http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=FGS2001 ) is an elegant little system (and a lot of background flavor) for playing tiny fey creatures in maudlin tales of heroism and triumph.
Well, if you play with your kid sister.
In practice, I've found that in my play group, defeat and ignominy are more likely for the faery who isn't cunning and quick, and that the path to becoming a dark faery is slippery and short. I love this game. The mechanics are simple, character creation is easy (though you can spruce it up a bit if you want), and your life's blood, power, and resources are all contained in the too-quickly-spent Essence.
There's a free intro pack ( http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=FGS-FREE01 ) , which will give you a feel for the writing and the game system (though it doesn't cover dark faeries and wickedness very much). Check it out. Buy it. Sell off your first-born daughter to a hag in return for a powerful potion - I'm sure you can avoid the price later.
