"Changing Times" is a GMs guide, player introduction, and 4th Ed.
conversion for Transhuman Space, written by Phil Masters, to appear as a
PDF at e23.
Playtest guidelines are to be found here:
http://www.sjgames.com/pyramid/playtest.html
http://www.sjgames.com/pyramid/login/playtest/playtest-rules.html
Please read all of the playtester rules again and take special note of
the following:
Only one topic per post, Precede every post subject heading with Chapter
and then Category tags. (ex [CH3] [FACTS]) For the Changing Times
playtest, the following chapter tags are correct:
[INTRO]
[CH1]
[CH2]
[CH3]
[CH4]
[APXA]
Critical posts are much more helpful if they come with appropriate
sources cited or at least mentioned, and with some solution suggested.
If you're a new playtester and not sure how to go about things, you may
e-mail the playtest leader privately for assistance at jwilson@io.com .
The playtest leader also requests that everyone follow conventionally
correct Usenet/e-mail quoting style, this includes a prohibition on top
posting. A summary of those conventions are found here, and you should
re-familiarize yourselves with them before posting:
http://www.greenend.org.uk/rjk/2000/06/14/quoting.html
Please make sure your e-mail clients are set to send messages in plain
text, not HTML, RTF, MIME, or any other non-standard e-mail format.
Explanation and instructions on doing this are here:
http://www.expita.com/nomime.html
Posters new to the mailing-list style of playtest may wish to configure
their e-mail client program to sort playtest messages into their own
folder. I have compiled directions on doing so for several popular e-mail
clients here:
http://www.io.com/~jwilson/gurps/playtestmail.html
For this playtest, posts will automatically be tagged with [pt-ct]
Posters who find it easier to follow the playtest postings via the web
will be able to do so here:
http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/private/pt-ct/
Such posters may also wish to have their list subscription set "nomail"
(so that they will not receive hundreds of messages they will not be
reading). You may do this on your subscription page linked in the message
welcoming you to the mailing list, or by e-mailing me at jwilson@io.com.
Readers who prefer some minimal formatting beyond what the plain text
manuscript files offer, but who find the supplied HTML too much may find
my Reform program useful. It subdues the fancier HTML style tags, saves
on paper, ink, and printing time by reducing use of larger and bold
fonts, and converts most special characters from typesetting codes to
their intended appearance. Reform is available here (it's free):
http://www.io.com/~jwilson/gurps/#Reform
The playtest leadership thanks you for your sincere efforts to make this
playtest as productive, efficient, and painless as possible for everyone.
